So a few years ago in class, we did a thing called "Kill your critic." I forget what class it was in and who taught it, I feel like it might have been Rayme or Chris? Either way, you remember your biggest critic... and you kill it. You literally burn that mother fucker to the ground. I think of that little snippet of class a lot and the thought of killing your critic is pretty cool.
I'm reading Julia Cameron's "the Artist's Way" and that's pretty much what she gets to right away. Your "censor."
I'm pretty into the book right no and I'm excited about it (cut to 4 weeks from now when I'm slamming the book against the wall--or at least that's what this book has foretold me will happen!)
Well, my point is,
If you have a critic,
and all you hear
your critic can go fuck itself. kill it.
(or in a less violent approach... know that your critic is a real thing, and that those thoughts are not the truth. keep doing and creating. tell your critic to politely shove it.)
